Mustang GT 350
Vehicle Type:
1965 Ford Mustang GT 350
Details:
This beauty was purchased by Shane Garrison at Barrett Jackson this Spring with only 16 miles as a fresh build. It was built as a track day car, but Shane wanted some additional options, as well as improved streetability. Here’s a quick look at how we accomplished these goals:
- The Quaife 6-speed sequential transmission was replaced with a Bowler Performance carbon edition T56 magnum with a ZR1 close ratio gear set – this required the transmission tunnel to be reshaped and for us to add a unit remote mounted shift lever
- The rear gear was replaced with a 3.70:1 ratio nodular iron third member from GearFX
- The gear set was REM polished before assembly then dyno’d to ensure that it was quiet
- We added sequential taillights, new hood hinges, adjusted panel gaps, and machined and installed a new fuel fill
- We removed the traditional gauges and replaced with a Motec C1212 dash
As you all know, Jesse is big tech-nerd so he has been refining the electronics in the car to log more information, have an on-board camera, automate some of the functions in the car, and added the Motec dash that communicates with the Holley ecu via CAN-BUS network. Jesse has also worked to fabricate a Motec Dash Sunshade that allows for easier viewing of the screen. It works to block the sun glare and assure you are able to see your controls no matter the lighting situation.
